Philodendron verrucosum Ecuador
This is the Philodendron species that got us hooked from the beginning. The captivating, iridescent sheen on the velvety leaves is always stunning. P. verrucosum is a climbing species that requires a totem for support in order to produce full sized leaves. If given warm, humid conditions with adequate light, it grows FAST.
The native range of Philodendron verrucusom spans from Central America all the way south to Peru. We grow a wide range of ecotypes and this clone from Ecuador is one of our favorites. It adaxial (frontside) of the leaf has a distinctly iridescent olive green color as it open ups and it darkens to a deep green over time. The abaxial (backside) becomes a solid. blood red color with orange veins. Highly recommended!
This product is considered an Intermediate Tropical plant. Please see our Aroid Shipping guidelines and Shipping and Guarantees policy.
