For sale are seed grown Nepenthes spathulata red from Sumatra. Throughout most of Sumatra, Nepenthes spathulata exhibits a green pitcher body with gaping red/purple peristome. However, a few populations exist around the northern extent of its range which possess a uniformly red coloration over the entire pitcher body. These plants are distinct from adrianii which is different in appearance and geographically located on the island of Java, south of Sumatra.
