Nepenthes 'Briggsiana', ventricosa x lowii
Nepenthes 'Briggsiana', ventricosa x lowii is a classic hybrid displaying the best of both parents. It produces thick leaves and the pitchers have a woody texture. It can be grown under a wide range of conditions and we recommend it as a great beginners plant especially for those in cool climates.
There's been a few growers who have created this cross over the years and each cross has its own charm. The original was made in the early 90's by Johannes Marabini who distributed seed to growers around the world including Chuck Powell and Leo Song at Cal State Fullerton. Cultivars such as 'Atlanta Giant', 'Peter D'mato' and 'Hortus Botanicus' came fom this grex. Exotica Plants has their own version as well which turned out quite nice and large. We've also made this cross in house using our giant "Denver" ventricosa and huge lowii Trusmadi.
This product is considered a Intermediate Tropical plant. Please see our Shipping and Guarantees policy for cold/hot weather shipping guidelines.
