Bare-root Rhizome Terms
We sometimes sell plants categorized as bare-root rhizomes. Generally, this means that plants were recently divided and are either dormant or entering their dormancy period. For the upright varieties, the pitchers will be cut). These plants are recommended for experienced growers who have an understanding of the plant's life cycle and know they will emerge with new growth in the spring. Bare-root rhizome plants are guaranteed to be healthy but may have some leaves cut. We offer no guarantees beyond live arrival for these plants but if grown properly they should emerge beautifully in the spring. If you are in doubt about your growing conditions, we recommend purchasing established plants instead.
