Nepenthes sibuyanensis variegated
This species comes from the slopes of Mt. Guiting-Guiting in the Phillipines. It’s one of our favorites due to its toothy peristomes, waxy pitcher texture and impressive size. The coloration of the pitcher body ranges from cream to pink to an iridescent red. These plants are tolerant of a wide range of conditions and we’ve had it growing in our lowland, intermediate and highland greenhouses with success. Interestingly, it seems to like to only produce lower pitchers when they are touching a surface below. Perhaps this has to due with its targeting ground prey in nature. The uppers are similar to the lowers but totally cream colored.
The plant for sale is a unique, variegated clone we received as a cutting from Borneo Exotics. Both the foliage and pitchers exhibit the gorgeous variegation. It's a female plant and excellent breeder. As far as we know, we are the only nursery outside of Borneo Exotics to offer this plant and cuttings will only be offered on an extremely limited basis. The exact plant in the photos is the one being offered for sale.
