The taxonomy of Nepenthes dactylifera has been recently revised. The species is now split from those formerly classified as fusca. Dactylifera consists of plants from Sarawak are these a morphologically different from those are now classified as Nepenthes zakariana in Sabah. Plants from the original type locale (Kemul) in Kalimantan are the only ones designated as fusca. Plants for sale are a single clone from Borneo Exotics, BE-3070.
