Nepenthes ventricosa (Denver x (k)), CAR-0027
Nepenthes ventricosa is a perfect beginner’s plant! Hailing from the Phillipines, it's known for being one of the hardiest and most adaptable Nepenthes species. It produces waisted, waxy pitchers that are tough and long-lasting. This is a cross between our Denver clone and (k) from EP. It takes a while for ventricosa to produce mature pitchers but we expect that within a few leaves these will be putting out huge, deep red ones. The Denver clone is the largest and most vigorous ventricosa in our collection and (k) produces blood red traps with a gorgeously flared peristome is also incredibly vigorous. This cross is very fast growing (even for ventricosa standards) and plants in our lowland, intermediate and highland greenhouses seem to do equally well. Thank you to Kris Hardy for allowing us to use his ventricosa "Denver" photo.
Plants are seed grown unless otherwise specified.
