Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa is a compact American Pitcher Plant variety with a range from New Jersery south into Georgia. It prefers less light than many of the upright growers of the same species and can thrive outside, under grow lights in a tank or even a sunny windowsill. Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa is a temperatue plant and requires a winter dormancy where it can tolerate temperatures into the 20's with no issue.
