Pinguicula gigantea butterwort plant
Pinguicula gigantea is one of the largest species of Mexican Pinguicula and one of our favorites. It also unique in that it traps its prey on both the top and bottom sides of its leaves.

Light | Provide bright, indirect light. They thrive under grow lights if natural light is insufficient. |
Humidity | Pinguicula can tolerate a range of humidity levels. Sufficient airflow is required at higher humidity to prevent leaf rot. |
Watering | Place pot in a shallow tray with 1 to 2 inches of water. After it’s been dry for a few days, the tray can be refilled. Use distilled, RO, or rain water ONLY. Water very sparingly during dormancy. |
