Nepenthes ampullaria is a classic lowland species occurring throughout Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, and Papua New Guinea. It comes in all color combinations and sizes. This clone was selected as one of the most stunning in the Borneo Exotics breeding program. It produces dark leaves and lime green pitchers.
This species makes a great specimen for a warm terrarium or greenhouse. Since the pitchers have evolved to feed on detritus instead of insects, they don't produce the harsh acid environment of others species, therefore ampullaria also makes a great companion plant for frog species, reptiles and invertebrates.
